How we work

How we build something that lasts.

Most organizations start on a plan. A custom build is for when you need something the plans don't do, and it starts with your mission, your members and your organization's complexity, before a single line of code is written. Here's exactly how we work.

Kickoff to launch

4 phases · 10–36 weeks depending on scope

Four phases

From first call to launch day, in 10–36 weeks.

Discover, Design, Build, and Launch and grow. The length depends on scope: a Foundation web platform takes 10–16 weeks, a Community build 16–24 weeks, and Full Platform 24–36 weeks.

Step by step

Seven steps. Inside the four phases.

  1. Phase 1 · Discover · Before you commit

The Strategy Call Honest assessment first.

    Before anything else, we talk.

Not a sales call. A real conversation about your organization, your current platform, your community's needs, and whether a custom build makes sense right now. If a plan already covers what you need, we'll tell you that. If it does, you leave with a price range; the scoped estimate follows discovery.

    Deliverables

    • Organization & community assessment
    • Current platform review
    • Build readiness evaluation
    • Honest go / no-go recommendation
  2. Phase 1 · Discover · Weeks 1–2

    Discovery We learn your community.

Every build starts with deep discovery.

We learn your organization's structure, the tools you run today and what each one holds about your members, your members' behavior, your operational workflows, and the specific ways your community is different from every other community. That understanding, more than the technology, is what makes the build custom. At the end of discovery you get a scoped estimate, and the price is fixed before the build starts.

See the build tiers and what each includes

    Deliverables

    • Community structure mapping
    • Map of the tools you run today, and what each one holds
    • Member journey map, from first contact to leadership
    • What your team should never have to do by hand again
    • Custom requirements brief
    • Scoped estimate
  3. Phase 2 · Design · Weeks 3–6

    Architecture Building the foundation.

Before design begins, we map the platform architecture.

How data flows, and how everything lands on one member record. How members move through the experience. How your organization's complexity maps to a system that actually works.

    Deliverables

    • Technical architecture plan
    • Data flow documentation
    • Member experience mapping
    • Full feature roadmap
  4. Phase 2 · Design · Weeks 3–6

Design Your community looks like you.

A Socio Connect platform doesn't look like anyone else's.

It looks like yours. Your brand, your language, your community's culture expressed through every interface decision. Not a white-label skin. A designed system built specifically for how your community works.

    Deliverables

    • Full UI/UX design system
    • Platform wireframes & flows
    • Mobile app screen designs (Full Platform)
    • Interactive prototype & review sessions
  5. Phase 3 · Build · Week 7 to launch

    Development Built to last.

    We build. You're involved throughout.

You're involved throughout, instead of being handed a finished product to approve. Regular check-ins, real access to what's being built, and the ability to shape decisions before they're permanent.

    Deliverables

    • Web platform development
    • iOS & Android app build (Full Platform)
    • Backend infrastructure & APIs
    • Third-party integrations
  6. Phase 4 · Launch and grow · Launch, then ongoing

    Launch Your community moves in.

Launch isn't the end. It's the moment your community moves in.

We handle migration from the tools you are replacing, member onboarding, and the first 90 days of engagement monitoring, because the early months are when new members either settle in or drift away. That monitoring is about how your community is doing; separately, any defect in what we built is fixed at no charge for 90 days after launch.

    Deliverables

    • Phased launch strategy
    • Member migration & onboarding
    • 90-day engagement monitoring
    • Team training & admin setup
    • Training your team on the assistant
  7. Phase 4 · Launch and grow · Launch, then ongoing

    Stewardship We stay with you.

We build it and run it for you, or hand over the code and accounts if you'd rather.

We offer stewardship plans for organizations that want ongoing support, updates, and a partner who stays engaged with the health of the community. Not required. Always available.

    Deliverables

    • Optional stewardship plans
    • Platform maintenance & updates
    • Ongoing feature development
    • Community health partnership
    • Tuning the assistant's briefing as your community changes
