The situation

A ministry gathers men. The room is full, and something real happens in it.

Then it ends. Everyone drives home, the week starts, and what happened in that room has nowhere to live until the next time everyone is in it together.

That gap is the whole problem. It is not a content problem or a turnout problem, and everything here was built against it.

What is different now.

The week has a rhythm now.

The study no longer arrives in one piece on the night everyone is already in the room. It is broken into days and released ahead of the meeting, on the night each particular group meets, and the men work through it across the week rather than the evening before. A man answers his questions in the app and keeps them, and the men who would rather read on paper get the lesson as a PDF in their inbox.

A man who misses a night is not out of the loop.

Each group has a room that stays open: a chat that does not close when the meeting does, leader notes that land on every man’s home screen, and a directory in which each man decides which of his contact details other men can see. When someone posts it reaches the other men’s phones, and men who miss a gathering get picked up there. A man who joins partway through arrives into a conversation already in progress rather than an empty page.

Leaders reach men before they drift off.

A leader’s dashboard shows when each of his men was last active, and attendance is filed against the specific meeting it was taken at, so a later change to a group never rewrites what already happened. Leaders use it to reach a man before he drifts. When a man joins, his leader is emailed his name and number the same day; when a man steps out, his leader hears it in the man’s own words, and the reason he gives can route him back into the queue rather than out of the ministry.

Wanting to join has somewhere to go.

A man who is interested picks his own group from real openings that match when he is free, instead of waiting to be placed by somebody. If nothing fits, he goes on a waiting list and is emailed the moment a group that suits him opens up. Men signing up to meet at a particular church land in that church’s queue, and its staff hear about it straight away.
