Can we import directly from Planning Center?

Not yet. A direct connection is on the way, and it will bring people, households, groups and giving history across in one go, with a donor move kit for recurring gifts. Today you import a Planning Center People export, and Socio Connect recognizes its columns, households included.

What happens to recurring gifts?

Stored card details belong to the payment processor, so nobody can move them for you. Givers set up their recurring gift again on your new giving page, which goes straight to your church’s own Stripe account with no platform fee. Ask them before you switch, and keep the old gifts running until each one has moved.

Do we lose our giving history?

Keep your Planning Center giving export as your record for statements and year-end. Bringing giving history into Socio Connect comes with the direct Planning Center connection, which is on the way.

Can we run both for a while?

Yes, and we recommend it. Import your people, set up groups and giving, and switch at a natural break, such as between sermon series. Most of the work is setting up groups and asking givers to move.

There’s no fee to move. You pay for the plan that fits your size, and the comparison page shows Planning Center’s published prices beside ours. For a smaller church using only a few Planning Center modules, Planning Center can cost less, and we say so.

Export People from Planning Center as a spreadsheet and import it. We recognize Planning Center’s columns: names, contact details, addresses, households, children, tags and status. Anything else can come across as a custom field.

Checked before it’s saved

You see how each column will be used, likely duplicates are flagged for you to decide, and nothing is saved to your directory until you confirm.

Giving, to your own Stripe

Connect your church’s own Stripe account and open your giving page. Givers set up their recurring gifts again there, with no platform fee on any gift.

Groups and check-in

Set up your groups and your Sunday check-in, with matching labels and a logged pickup for every child. The setup coach can draft a starting set of groups from a few answers.

Export from Planning Center
In Planning Center People, choose Actions, then Import & Export CSV, then Start Export. Keep the file somewhere safe: it’s also your record of the move.

Import and check
Start your 14-day Community trial and import the file. Review the column mapping and the duplicates, then confirm.

Set up, side by side
Connect Stripe, set up groups and check-in, and invite your staff. Keep Planning Center running while your team settles in.

Switch at a natural break
Pick a date between sermon series or terms. Ask givers to set up their recurring gifts on your new giving page, and stop the old gifts once they have.
