Hivebrite Pricing 2026: The Published Tiers, and What to Ask About the Rest

Hivebrite publishes prices for two of its four tiers and quotes the rest privately. Here's what the published tiers cost, what's included, what's excluded, and what to ask before you sign.

Harbor Point Church is an example.

Hivebrite is one of the most commonly evaluated community platforms for alumni networks, nonprofits, and professional associations. It's also one of the most opaque on pricing. Enterprise customers negotiate directly with sales, which means two organizations with similar-sized communities may be paying meaningfully different amounts for comparable configurations.

This guide sets out what Hivebrite publishes, what each tier includes, and the questions to ask about everything it doesn't publish, so you can get a complete quote before you sign.

Hivebrite's pricing structure

Hivebrite uses a tiered annual subscription model and publishes prices for its first two tiers. The other two are quoted after a discovery call, so the figures below are Hivebrite's own for Core and Flex, and an honest blank for Prime and Custom Fit.

Costs to ask about before signing

The annual license fee may not be the full picture. Before you sign, ask about each of the following, and get the answers in writing as part of the quote.

Implementation and onboarding

Every plan advertises hands-on onboarding. Ask whether implementation is included in the quoted price or billed separately, and what happens if the rollout runs long.

Modules priced outside the plan

Ask which capabilities you are assuming are included — job boards, ticketing, e-commerce, deeper analytics — and which are priced on top of the plan.

Annual price escalation

Ask whether the contract contains an escalation clause, what it is capped at, and what your renewal looks like in year three and year five rather than year one.

Growth in members or usage

Hivebrite says unit costs decrease as you scale. Ask what happens at the boundaries: what triggers a move up a tier, and what that move costs.

Leaving

Ask what you can export, in what format, and what it would take to stand your community up somewhere else. The answer is the real measure of how portable your community is.

What Hivebrite costs over time

The most useful number in a platform decision isn’t the annual fee. It’s what you pay over the years you expect to use it. At Hivebrite’s published prices, with no price rise assumed:

  • Core: $10,740/year, which is $53,700 over five years and $107,400 over ten.
  • Flex: $23,940/year, which is $119,700 over five years and $239,400 over ten.

If your contract has a price rise, or you’re on Prime or Custom Fit, use your own figure. Hivebrite doesn’t publish those, so we won’t guess them.

How Socio Connect compares

Hivebrite is a strong fit for large alumni networks and associations that want its directory, memberships and sub-community governance, and are comfortable with an annual contract. If that’s you, the questions above are the ones to settle.

If you’re weighing alternatives, Socio Connect publishes its plan prices. The Community plan is $299 a month for up to 750 active people, with dues, events and ticketing, groups, giving, volunteers, courses and the Assistant. The Complete plan is $599 a month for up to 2,000, with chapters under one roof and an API. Dues, gifts and tickets go to your own Stripe account with no platform fee on top. Yearly billing is 10 months for 12.

Most organizations pay for other tools alongside Hivebrite, and staff time between them, so compare the set, not one line. The calculator runs it on your own numbers. Treat any result as an estimate, not a quote.

If you need something no plan does, such as your own app or a program nobody else runs, that’s a custom build. Here’s when a custom build makes sense.
